The day will start with a Torch Run within the Gunnamatta Reserve commencing at 9.00am with the plunges starting around 10.00am. We will be scheduling the plunges at 10 minute intervals and will let your Team Captain know your scheduled plunge time.
You are welcome to join us for the Torch Run but it's not mandatory.
The Polar Plunge is being held at the Gunnamatta Bay Baths, Gunnamatta Park, Nicholson Parade, Cronulla
The map shown below will help you get your bearings
Gunnamatta Park is located less than 700 metres from the Cronulla Railway Station. This would be the best way to get to the event.
Those driving need to be aware that parking in and around Nicholson Parade, Cronulla can be limited - even on a Sunday morning in the middle of winter.
The map shown below highlights Parking Stations in the area
Of course - the more the merrier. Please remember though that only registered participants will be able to plunge.
Think water and winter and dress accordingly. Don't forget to bring a towel and warm clothes to get into after your plunge.
For the plunge itself, we'll leave that up to your imagination!
Feel free to bring your own food and drink - but we will be putting on a BBQ and bringing in a Coffee Truck to warm you up after your plunge.
There will be live music to keep you entertained during your time at the event. Thanks to the NSW Police Band for providing their Brass Quintet - a bit of sax and trumpet should go down well.
We are also getting a visit from the NSW Police Mounted Branch - plenty of photo opportunities there.
